Craft Time

I love to do crafts, make things instead of buy them, bake from scratch and forget the boxed food. Lately like most people these days have been captured by pinterest. I decide to take a few minutes, ends up being an hour. During one of my quick looks I discovered a post for a spring wreath and decided to give it a try.

The start

One time around... If I would have thought this through a little more, I would have used a green wreath instead of white....

around and around we go

Time for some pretty flowers

Finished product, at least for now. Thinking it needs a bow or maybe a welcome spring sign, we shall see

A view of it on our door.

Many more projects in the works right now, now to find the time to finish them!

Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby

This is Wyatt's first year in boy scouts and he is officially a Tiger Cub. With spring comes the annual boy scout pinewood derby. Chris and Wyatt decided to build a cool truck to race this year, a hard decision after hours of looking at different designs on the internet.

Wyatt was all ready in his new uniform and his truck.

Here is a line up of all the tiger cubs.
(they race against boys in their age group)

Just a few pictures of Wyatt's finished product.

Wyatt is patiently waiting for his first heat, and if you know Wyatt, this is really hard for him!

Wyatt's truck did pretty good, we didn't get in the top three, but we did win a few races! And the boys have some new ideas for improvement!

Here is a picture of the boys in Wyatt's group with all of their cars

And here they with their leader George after the trophy's were handed out.

Wyatt had a great time and was extremely happy even though he didn't get 1st place, he had fun an he did win Best of Show and the Most Unique, so along with the participation trophy, it was a good day!

Wyatt had to take a picture of his truck with his trophies afterwards!

After the research and cutting and sanding, his finished project was something he was very proud of.

Crispy Cheese Chicken

Crispy Cheese Chicken:
4 large chicken breast
2 sleeves Ritz Crackers
1/4 t salt
1/8 t pepper
1/4 t Lawry's Seasoned Salt
1/2 C milk
3 C cheddar cheese, grated
1 t Italian seasonings

Sauce:
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 T sour cream
3T butter

Cut each chicken breast into 3 large pieces.
Crush the crackers into crumbs, you can do this by using a small food processor or putting into a zip lock bag and running a rolling pin over them.

Pour the milk into one pan, cheese into another and the crackers into a third. Toss the cracker crumbs with the salt, pepper and Lawry's.
Dip each piece of chicken into the milk, and then into the cheese. Be sure to press the cheese into the chicken to be sure that it stays.
Then finally press into the cracker crumb mixture, coating each piece of chicken.
Lay the chicken into a greases 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle with Italian seasonings.
Cover pan and bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes.

In a sauce pan combine the soup, butter and sour cream until heated and serve over the chicken.
